A Letter to our Patients Regarding Services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton

December 9, 2021

Dear Patients:

Mercer Bucks Cardiology remains committed to your cardiovascular care. We would like to provide you with an update regarding our practice.

You are likely aware that we began an affiliation with Capital Health in April 2021. This included Capital Health assuming management of our offices, MBC transitioning to the new Athena electronic medical record, relocating some in-office testing to Capital Health locations and utilizing Capital Health for our billing services. We feel this partnership has been highly successful and will be continuing indefinitely.

As part of MBC’s strategic partnership with Capital Health, we have decided to stop providing any services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton (RWJUH-Hamilton) as of December 17, 2021. Our physicians will no longer be on the medical staff at that facility and will therefore not be present at that facility.

This decision did not come easily. We have been on staff and providing optimal cardiac care at that hospital for more than 25 years. The hospital has taken a separate strategic direction without including Mercer Bucks Cardiology.

We will maintain our Robbinsville, Lawrenceville and Newtown, PA offices and will continue to focus on providing patients with easy access to our providers and comprehensive cardiovascular care with a commitment to developing same day/next day appointment access for our referral physicians. While RWJUH-Hamilton has contracted with a different cardiology practice for inpatient services, we remain committed to the cardiovascular care of our patients and our community. With this commitment in mind, we will continue to offer inpatient services at Capital Health facilities and St. Francis Medical Center in New Jersey.

If you are not familiar with Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell, it is conveniently located off Exit 73A (Scotch Road) on I-295. The hospital offers comprehensive medical services and amenities for those of you who are seeing us for cardiac testing and interventional procedures, including an accredited Chest Pain Center and cardiac, pulmonary and vascular rehabilitation. Capital Health has earned hospital accreditation from DNV GL – Healthcare for excellence in quality and patient safety, and their nurses have earned the prestigious Magnet® recognition for Excellence in Nursing Service four consecutive times. Recently, Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell was also named a 2021 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey as a top-performing health care organization in patient experience.

Our mission is to provide you with outstanding cardiovascular care close to your home.  Rest assured that Capital Health, like Mercer Bucks Cardiology, maintains the highest quality standards, and through this transition, we hope to meet and exceed your expectations. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our office or discuss this matter with our providers during your next office visit.
